Promotion Committee

Committee Chair:  Chris McClurg, The Dolomite Group

Committee Mission: The Purpose of this Committee to work independently and with agencies, designers, engineers, decision makers and stakeholders of the benefits and positive aspects of Asphalt Pavements and the mixes that are used. The Committee utilizes Educational Opportunities, Social Media, Speaking Engagements, Magazine Articles, and other means to promote the use of Asphalt as the pavement of choice. The Committee also works closely with the Asphalt Technical and Asphalt Binder Committees to spread the word of specifications changes that will enhance the mixes performance.

Some of the initiatives utilized to spread the word of the benefits of Asphalt Pavements:

• Asphalt Pavement Showcase Awards - Showcases Successful Asphalt Pavement projects annually

• Partner with the Asphalt Pavement Alliance on many promotion efforts

• Developed and oversees the OGS/Industry Working Group (Committee) - Reviews and addresses issues related to OGS Contracts

• Development of many “Lunch & Learn” programs to educate decision makers on the proper use of Asphalt Pavements

• Annual Presenter at Regional Engineers Week, Cornell Local Roads “Road School”. County Highway Superintendents Meetings, World of Asphalt, etc.
  
  Too many more achievements to list, but the committee is ready, willing and able to work with members, stakeholders, & decisions makers on all things asphalt.
